Thanks for asking this...Have also been wondering...I would love to watch full seasons of my dvd tv shows without having to change disc, and some say you download them to hard drive or cloud...You have to figure there is a way because you can watch full seasons over illegal streaming sites...Hopefully someone chimes in...

i use WinX DVD Ripper Platinum. It is basically idiot proof. And its cheap. There are different versions but they all work the same. (DVD, BlueRay, etc) It lets you pick high quality vs smaller file size depending on your needs with just 1 or 2 drop downs. My library is up over 1300 movies now.

Pro-Tip - Not that I would ever do this, but a $1.50 rental from Redbox and this software make a nice library grower.

Thank you for the response. About how long does each movie take to rip with that software?

That 100% depends on your computer. On my older laptop about 30-40 min. On my new one 10-15. but it also depends on the length of the movie a d the quality you pick.

I am using a free software called MakeMKV, it’s taking about 35 mins per dvd. This is just to rip the file not compress it to. After doing some research last night, I’m hoping to get everything uploaded to Plex. Seems like a great way to have an organized digital library.
